Software localization

Software localization Software localization is the process of adapting programmes for a specific region or language. It goes beyond the mere translation of the user interface. In addition to translating the software, we also adapt it to the local conditions. For example, when you install an American software product, only US locations can be selected initially. In the course of software localization, in addition to the translation work, we also have to add the locations of the target country to the available options at this point of the programme.

Continuous advances in technology make software localization easier. Previously, translators had to use the development interface to modify texts, while today there are special software translation programmes available for this purpose. This means that translators do not need to have programming skills, unless this is specifically required by the programme. It is sufficient to have excellent knowledge in the field served by the programme as well as proficiency in the source and target languages.
